BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – After re-building the Bryn Athyn College Men ACHA Hockey Program for the last three seasons, Ryan Heickert has announced he is stepping down as the Head Coach of the Lions. Heickert will be leaving Bryn Athyn for Arcadia University, where he will assume the Head Coaching duties for the NCAA DIII Men's Hockey Program. Heickert's resignation was accepted by Director of Athletics, Salvatore Capone.
Heickert said,"Thank you to everyone at Bryn Athyn College for helping me grow both personally and professionally. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Sal Capone and Chandra Hoffman for their constant support and guidance. Their expertise and friendship have been invaluable to me."
Heickert led the Lions to 26-44 record over three seasons and coached the Lions to one playoff appearance during his tenure. Heickert also served as the Strength Coach for the athetic department.
Director of Athletics Capone on Coach Heickert: "Ryan has done tremendous job rebuilding the ACHA Men's Program after the COVID-19 Pandemic. He built a positive culture in the locker room, re-established the relationship with the local community and brought a fun winning atmosphere to the Pavilion. The Athletic Department is thankful for his time with Bryn Athyn Hockey and wish him the best of luck with his new program."
A search to fill the position of Head Men's Ice Hockey program will commence.
