Worth the wait for men's lacrosse

LA PLUME, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team returned to action after over a year away from the turf and put together an impressive performance and win over Keystone College 18-3

Inside the Box Score
  • Jamal White shined in his Lion debut leading the team in both goals and assists with six scores and five helpers  
  • Mike Haas added four goals, three ground balls, and one assist
  • Joe Nugent netted five goals and one assist
  • Tim Ragan dished out four assists and controlled six ground balls
  • Dan Condon won 14-19 face-offs for the Lions and collected ten ground balls
How it Happened
  • Jamal White started his career and the game off with a bang scoring two goals in the first minutes of the game (14:51 and 14:03) to open the game. Ryan Ovecka tacked on another goal at the 10:57 mark to make the lead 3-0 in the Lions favor. Keystone would break the scoring run on a goal from Alden Fries. 
  • Bryn Athyn would rattle off five more goals to close out the first period to lead 8-1 after the first frame. 
  • Jamal White continued his strong debut dominating the second period with two goals and two assists. Mike Haas and Mike Perkett would get on the board with goals from White's assist. Keystone would net one goal in the period. Lions took a 12-2 lead into halftime. 
  • Second half started slower than the first with only three goals in the third frame. Lions outscored the Giants 2-1 in the period.
  • Lions heated up in the fourth to put the game away scoring four unanswered goals with Mike Haas adding two more to his total, Dan Condon scoring his first goal of the year and Joe Nugent punctuating his performance with another score. 
Analysis
  • Bryn Athyn dominated the shooting category outshooting the Giants 53-9.
  • Lions won the ground ball battle 42-18 over Keystone. 
  • Bryn Athyn won 17-24 face offs in the contest
For the opposition
  • Giants had three different players net goals. Alden Fries, Jaydan Kirby, and Tyler McManus scored for the Giants.
  • Izaiah Simon collected seven ground balls.
  • Same Lepore stopped 17 shots in goal.
