Men's Basketball battles with Great Lakes

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team lost a tough one to Great Lakes Christian College on Saturday, 82-73

Inside the Box Score

  • Jamal Cannady Jr. poured in 21 points in 38 long minutes of play
  • Will Little exploded for 21 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals
How it happened
  • The game opened with a constant back-and-forth between the Westerlund brothers' teams.
  • Great Lakes built a 12-point lead midway through the first half thanks to some great zone offense and press defense.
  • The Crusaders remained in the driver's seat for the rest of the period, going into halftime up 42-33 on the Lions.
  • Bryn Athyn clawed back with its own press and crafty foul-drawing to make it a 2-point game early in the 2nd half.
  • Little and Cannady led the Lions' attack from the foul line, combining for 14 free throws made in the latter period.
  • Great Lakes went on to win 82-73.
Coach's Corner
"Great Lakes is a tough opponent who plays a style we never see. I thought we did a great job keying in on certain guys, but lacked the attention to detail on other guys. We would make a run and get it to one possession and have a bad turnover. Credit to GLCC. My brother does a great job with them. I thought Will Little and Jaryn McCann were excellent. No rest for the weary with a tough McDaniel game up next." Head coach Sean Westerlund said.
