BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Field Hockey team dropped its season opener to Gordon College, 10-0, in a non-conference contest. 

Inside the Box Score

• Veronica Diaz made 27 saves in goal, leading Bryn Athyn to a 27-0 advantage in net.
• Ava Fino notched two shots on goal for the Lions, while Katherine Hyatt logged one of her own.
• Amber Dawes defended a game-high four shots; Alexis Brown and Ava Fino stopped two apiece.

How it Happened 

• Gordon gained possession early and maintained it throughout. They finally broke through for their first goal in the eighth minute.
• After leading 2-0 through one quarter, the Fighting scots added three more goals in the second frame. 
• Gordon would go on to score five more goals to eventually win 10-0

Analysis

• Diaz's 27 saves are good for the second-highest in a game for any Bryn Athyn goalkeeper on record (since 2017).

• Caroline Kelley led the Fighting Scots with three goals. Anna Rathbun had two of her own, while teammates Avonlea Cummings, Amelia Veara, Emily Ward, Maddie Ahern, and Gina Ouellette logged one goal each.
