Men's Basketball ekes out another close win

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The men's basketball team got yet another close victory, defeating Notre Dame (MD) 61-56. 

Inside the Box Score
  • Jalen Parker was unstoppable inside, finishing with 19 points (8-12 shooting) and 9 rebounds. 
  • Jalen Jackson added 11 points, 5 rebounds and the game-winning 3-pointer.
  • Jalen Cary contributed two 3-pointers and 8 points overall. 
  • Isaac Marshall got 8 points in all kinds of unique ways. 
How it Happened
  • Bryn Athyn was slow to start, scoring just four points in the first eight minutes and putting itself in a 14-4 hole. 
  • However, the home team clawed back with a 17-1 stretch as the paint opened up. 
  • Lions continued to put pressure on the rim as shots were not falling, which worked, as they went up seven going into halftime. 
  • Notre Dame opened the second half with a 13-6 outburst to cut the lead to one. 
  • Bryn Athyn woke back up after that, taking an 11 point lead that stayed steady until late-game randomness. 
  • Lions would win by five.

  • "This was a big game for our program. I thought we showed some positive things against the zone. We need to continue to get better at starting games and closing games. This win secured our first above .500 record in our program's history. A lot guys and coaches put work into this moment. We continue to hunt for more." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund.

  • Bryn Athyn assisted on 19 of its 24 field goal makes, and committed only 10 turnovers. 
  • BAC is now 8-1 in the United East after finishing its first playthrough of the Skye Division.
