Men's Basketball completes sweep of Notre Dame

BALTIMORE, Md. - The men's basketball team stayed hot with its win over Notre Dame (MD) on Saturday, defeating the Gators 63-61. 

Inside the Box Score
  • Isaac Marshall continued his 2024 breakout, totaling 21 points on a hyper-efficient 9 shots. 
  • Jalen Jackson amounted to 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals before fouling out. 
  • Jalen Parker finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds. 
  • Keith Bullock did all the little things en route to 3 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. 
How it Happened
  • Bryn Athyn once again put itself in an early hold, going down 10-3 and then 13-7. 
  • Lions responded with a 15-3 run thanks to strong rebounding and physicality. 
  • Gators got back on track with an 18-5 stretch to close the first half, mostly buoyed by capitalizing on Lion mistakes, putting the home team up eight. 
  • Bryn Athyn broke out in the second half, attacking the rim with a purpose and executing a 26-10 stretch to go up nine with just under eight minutes to go. 
  • Notre Dame made it interesting late with some shot-making and rebounding, putting the game within reach after it was previously uncontested. 
  • However, Jalen Parker corralled a clutch offensive rebound as time expired to seal the deal.

  • "This team keeps finding a way. Down 3 starters, a rotational guy to start the game. We battled foul trouble with two other starters. This team just finds ways to win. I thought our bench gave great minutes. Zeek Marshall and Aaron Jones showed up in big ways. With the win we now have the longest win streak in program history. The hunt continues." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund. 
Notes
  • This marks Bryn Athyn's fifth consecutive win of the season, their best streak ever as a program. 
  • Lions are now 14-5 overall and 9-1 in the United East, remaining in first place in the Skye Division.
