ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Bryn Athyn Men's Basketball team competed til the end on Thursday afternoon against St. Mary's College of Maryland. The visiting lions defeated the home team 70-69 handing St.Mary's their first conference loss of the season.

  • Will Little amassed 14 points and 2 rebounds. 
  • Isaac Marshall was a two-way asset with 13 points 8 rebounds.
  • Keith Bullock Jr. had a breakout day with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in his first start of the season. 
  • Jalen Parker contributed big minutes on his way to 10 points and 7 rebounds. 
How it Happened
  • Tough road win for Bryn Athyn as both teams battled throughout the game leading to five lead changes and three ties. 
  • After a trading a few buckets and made free throws by the Lions; the game was tied at 13 through the first twelve minutes.  
  • The Lions went on a 14-2 towards the end of the first half to give themselves a 31-23 lead with about 2:30 minutes heading into half time.
  • St. Mary's College responded with a 5-1 push to cut its deficit in half and head into halftime down 32-28.
  • The Seahawks came out on the attack in the second half spearheading a 16-8 run within the first nine minutes giving them the lead; 44-40.
  • Bryn Athyn put together a run of its own, outscoring the home team, 21-9 to reclaim a 61-53 advantage with 2:52 left in the game as six different Lions scored.
  • Down 4 with seventeen seconds left; St. Mary's refused to go away as they knocked down a 3 to bring them within 1. 
  • As time expired; the Lions were able to secure a 70-69 tough conference win.

We definitely made it more interesting than it needed to be in the final minute, but, man, I'm so proud of our guys and their commitment to us and our culture.
