Men's Basketball wins 9 in a row with well balanced attack

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team took care of business on the road against Valley Forge, 83-66.

Inside the Box Score How it happened
  • The teams traded baskets for most of the first half, coming to the 9:30-minute mark with Bryn Athyn leading 17-16.
  • The the Patriots and Lions both refused to go away without a fight as they continued to exchange buckets. 
  • Bryn Athyn went on a 7-2 run in the remaining three minutes to take the lead 33-28 going into halftime.
  • Out of halftime; the Patriots would respond and ultimately take a commanding 3-point lead with a little over thirteen minutes remaining. 
  • Over the next seven minutes the Lions would turn up their defensive presence and offensive prowess by going on a 24-5 run.
  • Down 18 with a little over five minutes left; Valley Forge struggled to get constant stops on the defensive end.
  • Ultimately, Bryn Athyn's pace and balanced attack were too much to overcome.
  • The Lions would go on to win 83-66.

"I thought our focus and composure left a lot to be desired, but we showed a great level of focus in the last part of the second half to get it done. Our group continues to find ways to win. Our focus now shifts to Rosemont on Saturday." - Head coach Sean Westerlund said.

  • Bryn Athyn had 6 players score in double figures
  • Will Little surpassed the 1000 career points milestone. He is the second faster player to achieve the milestone and seventh member in program history to join the club.
  • Bryn is now 12-1 and still #1 in the United East Conference and 14-8 overall.
