Women's Basketball Drops to the Raptors

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team dropped to Rutgers-Camden 54-48 in Monday night action. 

Kristina Clark led the Lions with 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Hajaaha Stevens added 14 rebounds and 11 points, while Bianca Feliciano notched nine points and three assists. Taylor Davis pulled in seven rebounds and recorded six points. 

During the first half, the Raptors and the Lions battled for possession down low. Both teams had heavy post efforts evident in low paint scoring from both sides. Stevens led the Lions in the first half with nine points and seven total rebounds. Kristina Clark scored six points in the first half. Rutgers-Camden showed strength on boards in the first, while the Lions tallied a higher shooting percentage of 33%.  The Lions went into the locker room down 29-22 at the break.

At the 10:00 mark in the second half, Feliciano drained a three off a Clark assist. Clark got a steal and Keana Schoenagle drew the foul down low. Rutgers scored at 9:00, but committed another foul to send Stevens to the line. The Lions' press intensified at 7:14 causing turnovers.  Hot shooting from the Raptors' point guards went unanswered until 5:36.  The Lions found a rhythm with .25 seconds left in the half. They decreased the lead to five points, 51-46. Clark went to the line and sank two crucial free throw shots. The Lions crept within three points of Rutgers-Camden making it a one possession game. Katie Cox fouled on the in bound, erasing one second off of the clock. Rutgers-Camden went to the line and converted 2-2 to make the score 54-48.  Despite the final push, Bryn Athyn fell short 54-48.

The Lions return to the court Thursday, January 16th to face PSU Schuylkill. The game is slated for 8:00pm.
