Box Score Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The (1-3) Bryn Athyn Lions took on (6-3) Susquehanna Crusaders in Tuesday night action at the Asplundh Field House.
Taylor Davis started the game with a block electrifying the crowd and started the charge for BAC. The Lions started with tough defense, picking up steals and causing the Crusaders turnovers. Keanna Schoanaggle put up the first points off a Kristina Clark rebound. Sydney La Bat followed with a steal. SU responded with a 3-pointer. At the five-minute mark into the game the score read SU up 5-4.
Sydney La Bat at 10 minutes hit an open jumper moving it with in one again, 11-12. Watson followed for the Lions with her own sinking jumper from the base line. The score at 6:48 was 13-18. Clark moved them within two on aggressive rebound and put a way. Schoennagle found Vick open for a jumper at the 1:30 mark. The Lions picked up speed towards the end of the half and went on a six-point run.
At the half, Susquehanna led by a mere three points. Kristina Clark led the Lions with eight points and 4-6 from the field. Bianca Feliciano reigned in eight rebounds. Taylor Davis led the defense with three blocks. The Crusaders were dually led by Nikki Komara and Jonaida Williams both notching eight points. The Lions led the Crusaders in rebounders 24 rebounds to 18. Although, the Lions were unable to pick up a lead change, they went into the locker room with steam and momentum from their aggressive play in the last part of the half.
The women came out of the locker room full steam ahead, ready to bring intensity. Davis set a high pick for La Bat to move around and sink the layup on a well-planned system. SU responded with a three. Schoenaggle picked up a big rebound. Brittany Vick followed with a high key jumper.
It appeared to be point for point 32-25, La Blat drove past defenders at 11:30 for a nice lay up and score. She moved the score within six. At the ten-minute mark the score was 43-35. The Lions found foul bonus at the 7-minute mark, putting the Crusaders on the line.
SU was able to get a large lead towards the end with shots made beyond the arc. They were able to sink many shots in a row. The lead for SU escalated to 20 points.
The Lions were set back by the hot three point shooting from SU. Leaders for the Lions included: Kristina Clark with ten points and sixe rebounds, Taylor Davis with nine total rebounds, and Bianca Feliciano with nine rebounds. BAC fell 68-40.
Bryn Athyn has a quick return to action facing Delaware Valley this Friday December 19 away to finish off this year's season.
