Women's Basketball Falls to Lancaster Bible in NEAC Home Opener

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn women's basketball team opened conference play versus Lancaster Bible today.  Lancaster Bible came into the match up (2-2) to Bryn Athyn's  (1-1) record. 

The game ignited with shots from both ends of the court. Chargers went up 5-2 in the first three minutes and starter Sydney La Bat picked up two fouls quickly with her aggressive defensive.  At 17:12 pressure defensive caused the Chargers to turnover and set up a three-pointer conversion for Bianca Feliciano tying the game 5-5. The Chargers would respond with a lay up. 

Shanice Smith for the Chargers showed a dominating presence in the paint but was combated with aggressive efforts of Kristina Clark attacking the basket and her end. The Lions found bonus foul trouble early in the half and the Chargers were able to knock down their free throw attempts.  

Taylor Davis, half-way thru the first, picked up two crucial blocks and set the Lion's up for great offensive attempts.  At the seven-minute mark Davis reined in a rebound and assisted to Bianca Feliciano. Davis followed with a great defensive effort with a block and a dish back to Feliciano setting up a free throw attempts and converting one for two of them. The Chargers lead was shortened to 19-15.

LBC responded with a seven point run at leading up to 3:56.  Going into the locker the Chargers led the Lion's 32-21.  Bianca Feliciano led the lions in scoring putting up six points. Aubrey Folger led the Chargers with 13 points. The Chargers and the Lions both shot 34 percent from the field. The Chargers were 14-16 from the foul line.      

Kristina Clark started the scoring for the lions on an assist from Feliciano.  Anja Weisser advanced the score for the Lions to 25-39 on a hard foul in the paint.  Clark would sink a three at 5:45.  She followed with a lay up closing the gap on the Chargers lead.  The Lions fought back with a late half run, narrowing the margian.

The Lions fell to the Chargers in their opening game day match 58-42. Leaders for the Lions included Kristina Clark with 14 points and Taylor Davis with 10 rebounds.

BAC falls to 1-2 on the season and LBC advances to 3-2 on the season.
