Women's Basketball Falls to St. Elizabeth in OT

Morristown, NJ. – The Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team fell in overtime to College of St. Elizabeth  76-71 in NEAC conference action Thursday night. 

Sydney LaBat led the Lions with 20 points, eight assists and four steals.  Kristina Clark put up 16 points, and pulled back nine rebounds.  Brittany Vick scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Taylor Davis snatched 14 rebounds and made six blocks.

The Eagles started the game with a 4-0 run, until Clark knocked down a three and went on a 7-0 run to take a three-point lead at 15:57.  With the game tied at nine all at 13:52, Bryn Athyn went on a 12-0 run led by Je'la Watson with four points.  The Eagles ended the run with three pointer at 7:53 in the first.  St. Elizabeth capitalized on rebounds in the defense end to bring the within three, 20-23 with five minutes left. Bryn Athyn would extend their lead to seven points, but the Eagles knocked down a three pointer and two free throws to bring the game within two points, 29-27.

LaBat put the Lions on the board in the second, but St. Elizabeth answered with a three pointer at 18:26 and free throw to tie the game at 31 all.  Both teams exchanged points and tied the game at 39 with 13:03 left in the game.  The Eagles took their first lead of the game with a 8-0 run. Clark led the Lions fight with six poins to bring back the game within five points, 50-45.  Labat hit two back to back threes at 3:38 to bring Bryn Athyn within one, 58-57. Clark hit a free throw at 3:05 to tie the game at 58 all. Coming down to the wire with and a three point Eagles led, the Lions battle their way tie the game at 65-65 and take it into overtime. 

With both teams battling, the Keana Schoenagle made a jump shot to put the Lions up 67-65 with three minutes left in OT.  But the Eagles attacked back with a 6-0 run to take the lead and win the game 76-71.
