Women's Basketball Top Cedar Crest 73-48

Allentown, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's basketball started their 2015-16 on a high note, with a 73-48 win over Cedar Crest College in Thursday night action.

Sydney LaBat led the Lions with 19 points, six steals and four assists.  She went 4-5 from the arc.  Kristina Clark put up 14 points and two steals.  Robin McClinek had eight points, two blocks and one steal.  Samantha Hicks had eight points, four steals and one assist in the win. 

Both teams started the first quarter exchanging baskets.  The Lions took control of the quarter with a 25-17 lead to end the quarter. 

The Lions started the second quarter with a 8-0 run, led by McClinek with four points.  With 1:43 left in the half, the Lions built their lead to 17 points and kept the Falcons to only six points in the quarter. At halftime, Bryn Athyn led 40-23. 

Bryn Athyn kept the offensive pressure in the third quarter with a 7-3 run and built their lead to 23.  The Lions kept the Falcons to single digits for the second quarter and out scored them 25-9.

Cedar Crest would out score Bryn Athyn 16-8 in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough to chip away at the Lions lead. Bryn Athyn would win the game 73-48. 

The Lions outscored the Falcons 16-2 off turnovers and 17-8 off second chance points in the paint.
