Box Score CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn women's basketball team traveled to Wilson College in North Eastern Athletic Conference play tonight. The Lions defeated Wilson by a final score of 72-59.
In their second match up of the season, the Bryn Athyn womens basketball team tried to repeat their 84-45 defeat of the Phoenix earlier in the month. The first quarter saw both teams exchanging baskets and creating turnovers. The quarter ended with the teams knotted at 15.
The second quarter both teams made big runs. The Phoenix went on a 13-2 run for a 28-21with 3:37 left in the second. The Lions then went on a 15-2 run to end the quarter, capped off by two made free throws by Kristina Clark with no time left on the clock.
With the game tied at 36, the Lions went on a 9-0 run led by Je'La Watson with 5 of her 10 points in the quarter. The Lions continued to extend the lead throughout the quarter, outscoring the Phoenix 20-15 and holding a 56-45 lead at the end of three.
The Lions would not allow the Phoenix to get any closer. The Lions lead was extended to 14 when Kristina Clark make a jump shot at 5:54 left in the game. The Lions continued to create turnovers to keep the Phoenix offense off the scoreboard. The Lions were able to keep a double digit lead throughout the quarter and went on for the 72-59 victory.
The Lions were led by Kristina Clark with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Je'La Watson added 17 points for the Lions and Taylor Davis led the Lions with 12 rebounds.
The Lions move to 8-2 in the NEAC and 10-5 overall. The Lions are back in action on Saturday January 30th as they host Penn State Abington at Asplundh Field House at 3:00 pm.
