How It Happened:
In the second day tournament hosted at Allentown, Pa., Bryn Athyn College faced Immaculata University and proved to be too much for the Mighty Macs as the Lions came roaring out of the gate to score 13 points in a row. The Mighty Macs drop in their first basket on a three pointer, but that did not slow down the Lions as 12 more points were added compared to two more points from the Macs to make it a 25-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the scores were competitive as the Mighty Macs scored 16 points compared to the Lions 18 points. Thanks to a strong first quarter, the Lions were able to maintain a 22 point lead (43-21) at intermission. In the third quarter, the Lions continue to expand their lead to 30 points (62-32) on a lay up by senior guard Kristina Clark with two seconds left on the clock. Once again, the Lions held the Might Macs to single digit (8) in the fourth quarter as the Lions proved to be too much for the Macs and powered their way to a 75-40 win, their first of the season.
Lions' Top Performers
* Clark finished with game high 23 points, and 15 rebounds which eight of them were offensive boards.
* Senior guard Brittany Vick was the second Lions to score in double digit with 11 points to go along with three rebounds.
* Freshman forward Sarah Elizabeth Atunrase had another solid defensive presence with game high seven blocks to go along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Mighty Mac's Top Performers:
* Tamrya Laws finished with a double-double featuring 11 points and 14 rebounds to go along with an assist and a steal.
* Tess Keiffer and Annie Kohutka each scored eight points for the Macs.
