How It Happened:
In the first quarter, Bryn Athyn College and Penn State Schuylkill were neck to neck with each other throughout. However it was the Lions that had an advantage over the Nittany Lions when senior guard Brittany Vick knocked down a three pointer that gave the Lions an eight point lead, 20-13, over the Blue and White. With 1:57 left to go in the first quarter, the Nittany Lions were able to close out with four additional points to cut their deficit to three, 20-17.
In the second quarter, the Lions gradually separated themselves in the competition and found themselves with the biggest lead in the first half, 34-19, when junior guard Amber Farnholtz completed a three point play to make it a 15 point advantage. Again, the Nittany Lions were able to close out the quarter to cut the deficit to seven, 34-27, on their 8-0 run including a buzzer beating lay up by Kelly Shober.
After intermission, the Nittany Lions were able to close the gap to three, 38-35, on a lay up by Caitria Bowen with 6:36 left to play in the third quarter. From there, the Lions went on a scoring rampage that saw a 20-3 scoring run. The effort came from various players which started with a jumper from senior guard Keana Schoennagle, a three pointer by Vick and a lay up from sophomore guard Samantha Hicks, six straight points from senior guard Kristina Clark, back to back baskets from freshman guard Allison Warren, and a basket from freshman guard Janalene Phillips to end the third quarter with a commanding 58-38 lead. With the comfortable lead, the Lions scored 14 more points in the fourth quarter while the Nittany Lions connected on 17 points with the final score 72-55 favoring the home side.
Lions' Top Performers
* Clark finished with a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
* Vick and senior guard Je'la Watson was the other Lions to score in double digits with 10 points apiece.
* Freshman forward Sarah Elizabeth Atunrase controlled the glass with game high 16 rebounds, 10 of them on offense, and five blocks.

* Makenna Rushannon finished with game high 18 points.
* Joelle Moyer,Renae Warcola, and Shober each hauled down seven rebounds for the Nittany Lions.
