How It Happened:
Through the first three quarters, the contest between Bryn Athyn College and Penn College were competitive as the Wildcats responded to every Lions run. While the Lions were ahead 15-5 at 1:34 in the first quarter, the Wildcats were able to close out on a 7-2 run to trail 17-12. In the second quarter with the Lions leading 29-22 at 3:12, the Wildcats responded again to close out the first half with on a 9-4 run to cut the deficit to two, 33-31.
In the end of the third quarter, the Lions sat on top with 47-45 as both teams scored 14 points each. It was not until the fourth quarter that one team was able to dominate. The Wildcats opened the final stanza with five straight points to go ahead 50-47. Each team traded leads until two free throws at 6:18 by Jane Herman allowed the Wildcats to enjoy their 57-56 advantage one last time. From there, the Lions were able to began to sprint away from the competition. It started with 13 straight points from Samantha Hicks, Kristina Clark, and Keana Schoennagle before the Wildcats were able to connect on a basket. At that point with a 69-59 upper hand, the Lions close out the quarter strong with five more points, 74-61, and earn their second North Eastern Athletic Conference victory.
Lions' Top Performers
* Clark led four players in double figure scoring with 22 points. She also grabbed 13 rebounds, which seven of them came from the offense glass for her double-double.
* Sarah Elizabeth Atunrase also finished with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds to go along with game high seven blocks.
* Schoennagle and Je'la Watson scored 14 and 10 points respectively.
Wildcats' Top Performers:
* Maddie Wenk and Alicia Ross finished with 22 and 21 points respectively.
* Ross also hauled down team high seven rebounds.
Stats of the Game:
* Lions out rebounded the Wildcats 56-32
* Wildcats made 14 steals while Lions had eight.
* Lions had 10 blocks and Wildcats had two.
