Women's Basketball Takes Down St. Elizabeth, 67-51 in NEAC Action!

How It Happened:

Bryn Athyn College took advantage of the cold shooting from College of St.Elizabeth (6-of-47, 12.7%) in the first half and allowed the Eagles to score eight points in the first and second quarter. The Lions were paced by Kristina ClarkBrittany VickKeana Schoennagle, and Samantha Hicks as the four players combined for 27 of the Lions 37 points in the first half while the Eagles had 16.  

In the third quarter, the Lions continue to maintain a significant advantage and eventually took their largest lead of 24 points, 56-32, on a three pointer by Allison Warren with 0:31 left to play. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles put up a fight and came within 13 points on two occasions. The Lions were able to stay at a good distance to keep the visiting team from making a comeback in a 67-51 North Eastern Athletic Conference victory. 

Lions' Top Performers

* Clark finished with a double-double on 13 points and 12rebounds to go along with four assists and a steal.

Sarah Elizabeth Atunrase stood tall in the middle with a double-double defensively on 11 boards and her collegiate high 12 blocks. The sophomore center broke her own record from last season in a 74-49 victory at Penn State-Abington when she recorded 11 blocks on January 30, 2016.  

Eagles' Top Performers:  

* Jasmine Poole led her team with game high 19 points and 16 rebounds, which 10 of them were from the offense glass.

* Denesha Triplett also had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Stats of the Game: 

* Lions made five steals while the Eagles had 12.

* Lions had 18 assists while the Eagles had five.

* Lions out rebounded the Eagles 63-59.

Women's Basketball continues their NEAC schedule on Wednesday, December 7, at Gallaudet University. Game time will be 5:00 p.m.
