Women's Basketball fall to Morrisville State 58-51 Morrisville

Bryn Athyn Pa - The Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team hosted Morrisville State in NEAC action on Saturday afternoon at Asplundh Field House. The Lions fell to Morrisville 58-51 moving to 11-6 in the NEAC and keeping a hold of second place in the NEAC South Division.

The game opened with both teams struggling to make a basket. The Lions took a 7-6 lead after a Kristina Clark lay up at the 3:39 mark of the first quarter. Both teams exchanged the lead but Morrisvile closed out the quarter with 4 straight points to hold a 12-9 lead at the end of the quarter.

Morrisville opened up the second quarter with a 8-2 run to make the score 20-11. Morrisville held a 24-16 lead with under 10 seconds to go, when Je'La Watson hit a three pointer with 8 seconds left to get the Lions to within five, 24-19.

Both teams scored four points to start the third quarter and the Lions Bianca Feliciano three pointer made the the score 28-25 with 7:27 left in the third. Another Bianca Feliciano three pointer made the score 34-30 midway through the quarter. With the score 40-34, the Lions outscored Morrisville 4-1 to make the score 41-38 to end the third.

Morrisville took an eight point lead to start the fourth but the Lions Je'La Watson hit a three pointer to make the score 46-41. Morrisvile seem to always anwser any Lions attempt to take the lead today. The Lions got as close as three, 54-51,, when Kristina Clark hit 1 of 2 from the free throw line. That would be the last points the Lions would score in the game, as Morrisville held on for the 58-51 win.

The Lions were led by Kristina Clark with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Je'La Watson added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Robin McClinek added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

The Lions look to keep their play off hopes alive as they are back in action on Sunday February 14th as they host Cazenovia in NEAC action.
