Box Score Bryn Athyn Pa - The women's basketball team was defeated by SUNY Poly 80-70 on Sunday afternoon in conference play.
The Lions and Wildcats battled to a 17-17 first quarter. The Lion's Kristina Clark had 8 points in the quarter. The Lions outrebounded the Wildcats 16-8 in the quarter. The Wildcats took control of the second quarter outscoring the Lions 25-10. The Lions shot 4 of 13 from the field in this quarter and were out rebounded by the Wildcats in this quarter, 15-8. The Wildcats held a 42-27 lead going into the half.
In the third the Lions were able to cut into the Wildcats lead but not enough to get the lead under double digits. Two Je'La Watson lay ups with under a minute in the quarter help get the Lions within 10, 56-46.
The Wildcats were able to hold a significant lead through the fourth quarter. A Sydney Mitchell three pointer at the 1:58 mark pulled the Lions to within 8, 72-64. With 1:06 left in the game, Samantha hick hit a three pointer to cut the lead to 6, 73-67. The Lions were then forced to foul and hope the Wildcats would miss their free throws. The Wildcats went 7 of 8 from the line, and held on for the 80-70 victory over the Lions.
The Lions move to 11-4 in the NEAC and 13-7 overall. Kristina Clark led the Lions in scoring with 23 points. Robin McClinek and Sydney Mitchell both scored 10 points in the loss for the Lions. The Lions are back in action on Wednesday February 10th as they host Lancaster Bible in NEAC action.
