How It Happened:

In the first quarter, Bryn Athyn College scored the first five points, 5-0, of the game before Lancaster Bible College put themselves on the scoreboard. The Chargers would tie the game up at 12 apiece on a lay up before closing the first quarter out with a 20-15 advantage. In the second quarter, while trailing 24-17, the Lions used a 15-0 run to take a 32-24 lead before the Chargers halted the scoring spree. The Lions were able to head into intermission with a 40-33 lead.

The Chargers fought back in the third stanza and tied the game at 45-45 with 5:17 left to play. From there, both teams traded baskets but it was the Chargers who held a slight 53-52 advantage into the final period.

The Lions would open the fourth period with eight straight points for a 60-53 lead. The Chargers responded back with two lay ups but a three pointer from Keana Schoennagle continued to hold the Lions ahead of the competition. The Chargers would answer with 10 straight points to go ahead 67-63 with 3:24 left to play. Schoennagle found Allison Warren for a three pointer that cut the deficit to one, 67-66 (2:01). In the final minute, Courtney Goyak grabbed one of her 25 rebounds on a miss three pointer and scored her basket to extend the advantage to three, 69-66. This time around, Schoennagle found Samantha Hicks whom knocked down a contested three to tie the game at 69 with eight seconds (0:08) left in regulation. Four seconds later (0:04), Krissy Pennell knocked down a fade away three pointer, 72-69, for the Chargers that forced a Lions into timeout. The Lions quickly drew a foul from the three point territory for three free throws, and unfortunately could only connect one out of three for a 72-70 setback. After a quick foul, the Chargers split one of two free throws, 73-70, and a desperation three from the Lions hit the back of the iron as the Chargers stay undefeated in the North Easter Athletic Conference (NEAC) and while the Lions suffered their first NEAC loss..
