Box Score PITTSTON, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team got a goal from four different players as the Lions extended their winning streak to four after knocking off host King's (Pa.) College, 4-2, Friday evening in the Revolution Ice Centre.
The two netminders were the stars of the show during a very fast-paced, but scoreless first period. Bryn Athyn fired 16 shots at the King's net, which were all stopped by Link Ferch, while the Lions' McKenzie Chalmers turned aside 12 Monarch shots.
Bryn Athyn (4-2-0) controlled the early stages of the second period, capped off with the game's first goal off the stick of Julion Lever at the 2:14 mark. Linemates Alex Doyle and Alex Tan assisted on Lever's team-leading fifth goal of the season. Lever has scored in four straight games.
Doyle doubled the Lions' advantage when he scored a power-play goal—the first of two Bryn Athyn would score on the man advantage—with 42 seconds left in the second period.
King's (0-5-0) got back into the contest as Anthony Frati scored just 10 seconds into a power play—1:10 into the final period—to bring the Monarchs within 2-1.
Bryn Athyn quickly stole the momentum back with two goals 1:29 apart to widen the gap to 4-1. Alec Grollman—who assisted on Doyle's goal in the second—put his name into the goal column for the third consecutive game at 5:02 on the man advantage. Then at 6:31, Zach Pamaylaon scored Bryn Athyn's fourth goal with an assist from Connor Devereux.
Fratti scored the Monarchs' second goal of the evening with 5:40 left to play.
Chalmers finished the contest with 28 stops as he improves to 4-2. Ferch was credited 32 saves.
The Lions outshot the Monarchs 36-30. Bryn Athyn ended up 2-for-4 on the power play and has a power-play goal in four straight games. King's went 1-for-5 on the man advantage.
Bryn Athyn heads to Worcester, Mass. for the Becker College Tournament on Nov. 25-26. The Lions open play against the host Hawks on the 25th at 7 p.m.
