WORCESTER, Mass. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team's winning streak was stopped at four after the Lions were upended by host Becker College, 5-1, in the opening round of the Steve Hoar Memorial Invitational Saturday night in the Fidelity Ice Center.

Bryn Athyn (4-3-0) committed three penalties during the first 12 minutes of the contest and Becker (3-6-1) cashed in on two of the three man-advantages to take a 2-0 lead. Aaron Deady scored on the Hawks' first power play of the game at the 3:59 mark for the game's opening goal. After Bryn Athyn successfully killed off Becker's second power play, James Wallace found the back of the net on the third power play at 11:49 to increase the margin to two.

Mike Perkett cut the Becker advantage in half with an even-strength goal 57 seconds after Wallace's goal. Anthony Notorfrancesco and Zach Pamaylaon assisted on Perkett's second goal of the year.

Becker reclaimed its two-goal advantage just 2:39 into the second period on a Charles Costello goal. In the final period, John Tomkowiak scored at 13:40 and Willard McCullen got into the goal column two minutes later to widen the gap to four.

Hawk goaltender Ryan Clifford turned aside 32 shots to earn the victory. Bryn Athyn's McKenzie Chalmers recorded 30 saves in 55:40 of action. Chalmers gave way to Landon Trutt for the final 4:20. Trutt did not face a shot during his time in goal.
