Lions upended by Juniata in Sunday matinee

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team wrapped up its weekend in the Rinso Marquette Tournament at Lebanon Valley College with a 74-48 loss to Juniata in the consolation round game Sunday afternoon.

Clayshonia Cogmon continued her strong start to the season as she posted 16 points and 12 rebounds for her third straight double-double. Alexis Mitchem came off-the-bench to give the Lions (0-3) a career-high nine points, shooting 2-of-3 from 3-point range, while Alisha McKnight contributed a career-best seven points.

Lauren Beck added 11 rebounds—her second game with double-digit rebounds this season—and four points.

For Juniata (1-2), Gracie Stauffer posted a game-high 24 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Averie Hess and Grace Long each recorded nine points.

Juniata shot 35.6 percent (26-of-73) for the contest, while Bryn Athyn connected on 33.3 percent (19-of-57) of its attempts. The Eagles won the rebounding battle, 54-42.

Bryn Athyn returns to action after Thanksgiving with a non-conference road game on Sunday, Nov. 25 at Galludet at noon.
