Lions fall to visiting Anna Maria

WARMINSTER, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team suffered a 4-1 loss to Anna Maria Saturday night in the Revolution Ice Gardens.

Alec Grollman got the contest off to a positive start when he scored third goal of the season at the 15:32 mark of the opening period to give Bryn (3-7-0) a 1-0 lead. Tanner Congdon and Zach Pamaylaon both assisted the opening game of the net.

Then, the Anna Maria (3-5-3) power play struck twice to give the visiting Amcats a 2-1 advantage. Patrick Manning scored the first goal on the man advantage at 17:44 to level the first period at one. Gavin Proeh scored 5:51 into the second period for Anna Maria's second goal.

Just over five minutes later, Jackson Dobek increased the visitors' lead to 3-1.

Jack Sitzman closed out the scoring with a short-handed goal at the 11:25 mark of the final period.

Mackenzie Chalmers stopped 24 shots in a losing effort, while Brenden Boncore earned the win with 21 saves.

The Amcats went 2-for-8 on the power play. Bryn Athyn didn't score in its nine power play chances.

Bryn Athyn will close out its weekend series against Anna Maria on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. in the Revolution Ice Gardens.
