Box Score AUBURN, Mass. – Dakota Ulmer scored his fourth goal of the season for the Bryn Athyn College ice hockey team in a 4-1 loss to Anna Maria in Horgan Arena Saturday evening.
With the Lions (8-8-3) down 3-0 and goaltender Ismael Ralsten pulled in favor of an extra attacker, Ulmer put Bryn Athyn on the board with 3:23 left in regulation after receiving a pass from Peter Falivena.
Anna Maria (10-5-4) scored a goal in each of the first two periods to take a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes of play. Sam Cyr-Ledoux tallied the first of his two goals at the 15:04 mark of the opening period to begin the scoring. Nick Kukuris was responsible for the Amcats' second-period goal when he scored 1:15 past the midway point of the period.
Jonathan Fowler widened the margin to 3-0 with 5:56 gone in the third period. After Ulmer trimmed the gap to two, Cyr-Ledoux tacked on a short-handed empty-net goal with 1:18 left in the contest.
Ralsten (3-3-0) recorded 25 saves in a losing effort. On the other end of the ice, Anna Maria netminder Julius Huset stopped 34 shots—13 in the first and third periods—to go to 8-4-3.
Both teams went 0-for-5 on the power play.
Bryn Athyn and Anna Maria finish their weekend series on Sunday, Jan. 26 in Horgan Arena. The opening faceoff is slated for 4:40 p.m.
