CANTON, N.Y. – Tanner Congdon scored his sixth goal of the season for the Bryn Athyn College ice hockey team in a 6-1 loss to SUNY Canton Saturday night.
Congdon scored the Lions' lone goal on one of the team's nine power plays with 2:39 left in the second period to halve the Bryn Athyn deficit to 2-1.
Zach Pamaylaon tracked down the rebound of a Cameron Shorrock shot in the right corner. Pamaylaon backhanded the puck out from the boards to a wide-open Congdon in the right faceoff circle. Congdon one-timed the Pamaylaon pass by the glove side of Canton goaltender Michael Cerasuolo.
Canton (11-8-3) led 2-0 after the opening period, scoring twice in the close 10 minutes of the frame. Adam Petric scored the game's first goal at the 10:27 mark and was followed up by a Brett Bannister goal at 19:00.
After Congdon got the Lions on the board, Jesse Farabee, who had four points, restored the Roos two-goal lead with a power-play goal with 15 seconds left in the second.
In the third period, Sean David, Bannister, and Noah Robinson all found the back of the net for Canton.
McKenzie Chalmers racked up 24 saves for Bryn Athyn (11-10-3), while Cerasuolo stopped 28 shots for Canton.
Bryn Athyn finishes up the 2019-20 season on Sunday, Feb. 16 against SUNY Canton at 4 p.m.
