BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Clayshonia Cogmon and Kalie Soulsby both recorded double-doubles for the Bryn Athyn College women's basketball team in a 74-53 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to the College of Saint Elizabeth in Asplundh Field House Saturday afternoon.
Cogmon picked up her 10th double-double of the season as she scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Soulsby notched 10 points and 13 rebounds to record her third double-double of the 2019-20 campaign.
Treasure Baskerville came off-the-bench to tie Cogmon for the team lead in scoring with 13 points.
After getting off to a slow start, Bryn Athyn (5-16, 4-10 CSAC) had four players combine to run off eight straight points in just 56 seconds to tie the game at 8-8 on a Soulsby layup with 6:51 left in the opening quarter. With the score level at 10, Saint Elizabeth (15-5, 12-2 CSAC) outscored Bryn Athyn 12-4 in the final five minutes of the quarter to lead 22-14.
The Lions got as close as three points (28-25) during the second 10 minutes of play when Baskerville connected on her lone 3-pointer of the afternoon with six minutes left in the half. Saint Elizabeth answered back with 10 of the final 14 points of the quarter to go in front 38-29 at the half.
After falling behind 47-29 thanks to a 9-0 Eagle run to start the third, the Lions would pull within 14 points multiple times in the last five minutes. Saint Elizabeth outscored Bryn Athyn 21-14 in the final 10 minutes.
Saint Elizabeth had five players score in double figures, led by Rakiyah Sanders' 17 points. Aryanna Baytops (14 points, 11 rebounds), Kamille Jacobs (12 points, 11 rebounds), and Kamani Williams (11 points, 10 rebounds) all had double-doubles.
Bryn Athyn heads to Cairn for a CSAC contest on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m.
