BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The men's and women's cross country program hosted their annual Invitational at home this past Saturday and placed 5th and 6th respectively.
On a soggy Saturday,
Rafe Williams shined for the men's cross country program being the individual winner of the event by a whopping 60 seconds. Williams posted a time of 27:40 which was 64 seconds faster than second place. He defeated other runners from the United East Conference from Brandywine, Abington, Valley Forge, and Cairn. The Lions also placed two other members of the team in the top 20 with
Declan Williams logging in at 15th place with a time of 32:49 and
Benjamin Evans placing 17th with a time of 33:46.
Callum Homber and Pedar Todd rounded out the top 30 with 27th and 29th place finishes.
Christopher Fox and
Trajan Frazier placed 34th and 39th and Weston Brock finished in 43rd place range.
The Women placed sixth place overall and were led by
Gretchen Varona who finished 19th with a time of 33:14.
Sarah Hughes,
Tess Wyandt,
Katherine Hyatt, Deidre Bongers, and Serene Ephick all finished between 20 and 29 with times ranging from 33:18 from
Sarah Hughes to 42:33 from Ephick.Â
The Lions will prepare to race at the Cairn Invitational this weekend.Â
