How it Happened
- Bryn Athyn took control early with an 8-0 run and never let Wilson lead.
- After letting the Phoenix tie the game at 10-10, Lady Lions went on a 12-2 run to maintain balance.
- Lions were up 11 at halftime.
- The third quarter was much of the same, with Bryn Athyn keeping distance and going into the fourth up eight.
- However, Wilson made it very interesting late, hitting some timely threes and foul shots to close the gap to as little as three.
- Lions offense proved too powerful for Phoenix, as they closed out the night up six.
Coach's Corner
- "It was a big home win for us over an aggressive, well-coached Wilson team. It's always a battle when we play them, and we expect that. You look at the play of Kaylia Duncan, Alayna Day, and Zhymani Smith, just combined to get the job done and make plays. It took everyone tonight, the energy and the execution to find a way. I'm proud of our continued growth as a program, over the past 5 years. Three straight postseason appearances coming out of the pandemic when we didn't even have a conference season or tournament, and we have a lot more work to do. We will look to get back to work and build off of this big night." - Head Coach Travis Ponton.
