Men's basketball come back attempt not enough at Saint Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team lost a tough one to Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday, January 7th, 78-72.  

Inside the Box Score 

  • Sophomore, Jamal Cannady Jr dropped 26 points and snagged 6 rebounds.  

  • Junior, Derreck Orr Jr put up 19 points and had 3 rebounds.  

  • Junior, Isaiah Cureton was the last to score double digits with 10 points. He also added 6 rebounds.  

  • Senior, Anthony Burr had 7 rebounds and 4 assists. 

How it Happened  

  • Bryn Athyn sets the pace of the game and leads for the first 5 minutes of the half.  

  • Things take a turn at the 15:06 mark when Saint Elizabeth ties the game, 11-11.  

  • The Eagles go on to score 31 more points while the Lions only score 14 more.  

  • At halftime, Saint Elizabeth led the game 42-25.  

  • The Lions battle to find their way back. This started with Isaiah Cureton's three pointer in the first 15 seconds of the second half.  

  • With a lot of free throws made by Jamal Cannady Jr and an overall great team effort, the Lions were within 5 points of the Eagles with 3:43 on the board.  

  • However, Bryn Athyn struggled to outscore Saint Elizabeth and ended the game with a score of 78-72.

  • The Lions shot 77.8% from the free throw line.  

  • Bryn Athyn falls to 6-6 overall.  

  • Saint Elizabeth improves to 4-7.
