Men's Basketball completes season-defining comeback over Cairn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The men's basketball team earned a signature win over Cairn on Wednesday, winning 72-67.

Inside the Box Score
  • Will Little was massive off the bench, leading the Lions with 19 points, 3 blocks, 3 steals and a clutch 3-pointer late to put them ahead for good.
  • Jalen Parker did the dirty work en route to 17 points and 9 rebounds.
  • Keith Bullock Jr. was also productive off the pine, pouring in 11 points on a perfect 4-4 shooting.
How it Happened
  • Cairn got out to a 13-2 lead in the opening minutes, forcing an early Bryn Athyn timeout.
  • Lions proceeded to rattle off 11 straight points in three minutes to tie the game.
  • Highlanders maintained control with interior scoring, digging out a nine-point lead late in the half.
  • Bryn Athyn cut it to one as the half wound down with excellent ball pressure and shot-making.
  • Cairn opened the second very similar to how it opened the first: a big run that forced a Bryn Athyn timeout.
  • It took a combination of tough team defense and heaters from Bullock and Little to bring the Lions back into the game.
  • In the final 14 minutes, Lions outscored Highlanders 34-16 to complete the comeback.
Coach's Corner
  • "That was a playoff type game between two really good programs. Will Little absolutely defended his yard and was a true difference maker. Keith Bullock was dynamic in the ball screen. We need to start better in both halves but once we locked in defensively I thought we played well on that end. We still have to clean up the offense but I'm really proud of our group for this win." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund
Notes
  • Bryn Athyn got 34 points from its backups and 40 points in the paint.
  • Lions are now 2-0 in the United East Conference.
