BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The men's basketball team hosted Saint Elizabeth in the second round of the United East Conference Tournament on Monday.
Inside the Box Score
- Jakir Hampton slithered his way through SEU's defense for a solid 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

How it Happened
- Bryn Athyn had control for most of the game, jumping out to a 10-2 lead that it maintained for the entire first half.
- Saint Elizabeth continued to hang around, though, and got it back within one midway through the period.
- Lions leaped out to a 12-point lead with five minutes to play in the first, but Eagles closed the half on a 10-3 run to cut it to five.
- Bryn Athyn broke out early in the second, going up 53-42 and looking to be in the driver's seat.
- However, Saint Elizabeth refused to go away, and eventually took the lead with late-game execution.
- With the game tied at 66-66, Eagles hit a layup that sealed the deal, and eventually won 69-66.
Coach's Corner
- "This one stings. I felt we came out with great energy, and defended well in the first half. We led for almost 39 minutes. As a whole, we didn't protect the ball. They scored 25 points off our 20 turnovers and gave them 15 points at the free throw line, and we were bad in defensive situations in the second half. Failure cannot cope with persistence and we accomplished a lot of history. The hunt continues." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund.
Notes
- Men's Basketball ends the 2023-24 season with a lot of program records: most wins (17), most conference wins (12) and host of a playoff game.
