Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball falls in a slugfest to Wilson

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The men's basketball team could not get it done against Wilson on Wednesday, losing 62-52.

Inside the Box Score
  • Will Little stepped into the starting lineup smoothly, going for 20 points on 6 field goal makes and a perfect 7-7 free throw clip.
  • Messiah Antwi was the unsung hero Wednesday night, going for 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks in an emergency role.
  • Isaac Marshall dropped 10 points on just 4 shots.
How it Happened
  • Offense was not easy to come by for Bryn Athyn, especially in the first half.
  • Wilson opened the game on a 20-4 run propelled by its stout defensive plan that created easy transition offense.
  • Lions roared back with an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to eight, but Phoenix plucked points the rest of the first half to go into the break up 16.
  • Bryn Athyn knocked on the door a few times in the second, but Wilson refused to let the home team in. The magic number of 10 seemed unbreakable.
  • Wilson went on to win by that number.
Coach's Corner
  • "Wilson outplayed us. We allowed the emotions of the game to get to us and lacked the execution needed to win a game like this. Messiah Antwi played big minutes. We need to focus on winning Tuesday to give us a chance again at the 1 seed." - Head Coach Sean Westerlund
Notes
  • Lions shot just 35% on 2-pointers and forced only nine turnovers.
  • Bryn Athyn is now 12-3 in the United East and 17-7 overall.
Up Next
  • Men's Basketball tries to stay hot with an exhibition trip to Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday, February 10th at 4pm.
