Box Score Bryn Athyn Men's Basketbal team hit the court for the first time tonight versus the host of the Scotty Wood Tournament, Muhlenburg College.
In Bryn Athyn's season opener Freshman Jeff Seigafuse scored a game-high 14 points and 7 rebounds in Mules's win 95-55 over visiting Bryn Athyn Friday Night in Allentown, PA. Christian Rivera scored 10 points and pulled back five rebounds.
Following a 5-5 tie to start the game, Mules went on a 10 point run. Lion's worked their way back toward the end of the half narrowing the gap to 29-25. Mules responded with another 10 point run at the end of the half. Despite three pointers and a 42% FG shooting in the half, Lions trailed going into the locker room 31-41.
Troy Steed started the second half off with a free throw shot but the 10 point deficit would be the closest the Lions got in the second. Freshmen Steed paced the Lions with 11 points and 6 rebounds. He was assisted by Freshmen Joseph Kehoe with 11 points.
Head Coach Justin Baxter say, "Our men played really hard and that is all I can ask of them. Everyone battled to the very end. We get a chance to go back out there tomorrow against a very good Hunter College."
The Lions return to action tomorrow to play Hunter in Memorial Gym at 3:00pm.
