Lions Rallies Late Before SUNY Cobleskill Hangs On For 74-67 Win

Cobleskill, NY. -  Men's basketball team fell to SUNY Cobleskill on the road in Saturday afternoon action. The Lions fell to the Fighting Tigers 74-67.

The Lions were led by Christian Rivera with 18 points and four assists. Rivera shot 7-10 from the court and went perfect from the foul line. Deion Boyer and Jeff Seigafuse added 13 and 12 points respectively.

The lions shot 63% from behind the arc and 54% from the field. The Fighting Tigers built a six-point lead, with four minutes left in the first.  The Lions made three straight 3-pointers to bring the game within one point.  Bryn Athyn gained the lead in the first half coming of a jumper from Stephen Johnson putting the Lion's up to points to 36-34.

The Lion's held the lead until 3:32 left in the game. SUNY Cobleskill owned possession and built their lead to seven points.  With 30 seconds left, Joseph Kehoe drained a three pointer to bring the game within four points. The Fighting Tigers kept their offensive pressure and won the game 74-67.

Coach Baxter expressed, "We have a lot to learn from this game. It was a tough environment. Christian Rivera not only led us in scoring but was a guy we leaned on to make plays for us down the stretch. We look to refocus and come back strong after Thanksgiving break versus Swarthmore."
