The Blazers Slip by Men's Basketball, 72-66

Frederick, MD. – Despite season high records, the Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team fell to the Rotary Holiday Tournament host Hood College, 72-66 in Saturday night action.

Bryn Athyn was led by freshman Troy Steed with 17 points, six rebounds and two steals. Jeff Seigafuse added 15 points and four assits. Christian Rivera notched a season high to complete his first double-double, scoring 14 points and pulled back 10 rebounds.

The game was filled with seven ties and eight lead changes. Late second half push by the Blazers helped them come out on top.

Hood came out in the first half, strong, taking a 7-3 lead. Two caused turnovers and a lay up by Steed helped the Lions see their first lead on the game 9-7. Both teams went back and fourth, until the Lions eventually capitalized on Blazer turnovers to take their largest lead of the half 29-22, with 6:00 minutes left.  Hood got within three with 2:30 left on the clock, but Bryn Athyn rebuilt their lead and went into the half leading by seven points, 37-30.

At 16:02, the Blazers went on a 6-0 run and brought the game within one, 40-39.  Both teams exchanged leads and two ties, until Hood hit a three with 7:30 left in the game to take the lead. Turnovers plagued the Lions, giving the Blazers a seven point lead. At 2:24, a layup by Seigafuse brought the game within two points, 66-68. The offensive pressure from the Blazers was too much for the Lion's defense, and the Blazers came out on top in tonight's conest 72-66.

 
Bryn Athyn returns to the court to tomorrow to play in the consolation game at 1:00 pm against former NEAC member PSU-Harrisburg.
