Box Score Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team defeated Cairn 69-55 in Monday night action.
Christian Rivera led the Lions with 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Troy Steed added 14 points and three rebounds, while Joseph Kehoe notched 12 points and four rebounds. Adonis Rosario recorded 11 points and six rebounds.
Kehoe started off the game with a three pointer 21 seconds into the game. The Lions kept the lead for the first 17 minutes of play, until Cairn tied the game at 23-23 off of a good free throw. Rivera went to the line ten seconds later and converted 1-2 to put the Lions back on top. Bryn Athyn took a 33-28 lead going into the break.
The Lions extended their lead to ten points off of a Steed layup three minutes into the second. At 15:10 Deion Boyer converted 2-2 on the Lion to give the Lions at 42-32 lead. Cairn came within four points at 10:31, but offensive pressure from the Lions kept the lead for the remainder of the game. The Lions came out on top 69-55.
Leader in the game, Rosario said " We came out as a team and executed in the 2nd half by improving our rebounds and defense. We plan to get back at it in practice tomorrow."
