Men's Basketball Edged by PSU-Abington

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team fell to Penn State Abington 81-73 in Saturday afternoon action. 

Deion Boyer led the Lions with 19 points and four assists, while going 6-11 from the field and 3-5 from the three point line. Troy Steed notched 14 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Joseph Kehoe tallied 15 points, going 5-12 from the arc. Christian Rivera added 14 points. 


Momentum switched back and forth between Bryn Athyn and PSU- Abington during the first half. Steed led the Lions in the half with 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists, while Boyer went 2-3 from the three point line. At the 14:53 mark, Boyer hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 7-7. After falling behind, Boyer notched another three pointer at 5:30 to bring the Lions within one, 26-25. With 4:45 left in the half, Adonis Rosario went up for a rebound and was fouled. He converted 1 for 2 from the line to tie the game at 26-26. The Nittany Lions built a 37-26 lead going into the break. 


During second half action, with 4:43 left in the game, Carlos Perez scored to bring the Lions within five. After stopping PSU- Abington, Perez found the basket again to bring the Lions within three. At 3:35, Boyer hit a jumper to bring Bryn Athyn within one. The Nittany Lions notched a three pointer to take a four point lead, but Kehoe answered with a three pointer of his own to again bring the Lions within one with the score at 71-70. The Nittany Lions gained momentum in the last two minutes to take down Bryn Athyn 81-73.

The Lions return to the court Tuesday, January 7th to host Drew. The game is set for 8:00pm.
