Men's Basketball Takes Down PSU-Brandywine

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team defeated Penn St.- Brandywine 79-55 in Thursday night action. 

Adonis Rosario led the Lions with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Christian Rivera added 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Jeff Seigafuse recorded 13 points and three assists. Joseph Kehoe and Anthony Wallace each added nine points.

At 16:18 in the first, the Lions found themselves down by one. At 14:53, Seigafuse recorded a layup to give Bryn Athyn a 6-5 lead. At 9:24, Wallace found the rebound and scored to give the Lions a four-point lead, 14-10. At the 7:00 mark, PSU Brandywine scored a three-pointer to come within one. At 2:59, Joseph Kehoe found Seigafuse for the field goal, giving the Lions a 27-23 lead. At 1:20, Rosario blocked a Nittany Lion shot, and Christian Rivera took the ball up the court for the field goal to give Bryn Athyn a 31-25 lead. With :43 left in the half, Kehoe drove to the basket to give the Lions a 33-25 lead going into the break. 

At 18:53, Seigafuse hit a three pointer to give Bryn Athyn a 37-25 lead. The Lions extended their lead at the 12:45 mark, 45-29. The Nittany Lions never regained the lead, and Bryn Athyn defeat PSU Brandywine 79-55.

Rosario expressed, "I feel like we could have improved a lot of things, but we got the job done. We are going to keep working hard in practice."

First Assistant Coach Torrian Jones stated, "Stringing wins together is always great to build confidence for a younger team. We have a big game Saturday against Eastern so coming in with momentum is crucial. We plan to go back to the basics and increase our defensive discipline."

The Lions return to the court Saturday, January 11th to host Eastern. The game is slated for 7:00pm.

The Bryn Athyn College community came together tonight for a cause close to their hearts. The community raised $1,450 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network through donations, raffle tickets and t-shirt sales. Both teams wore purple in support of Pancreatic Cancer. Bryn Athyn Athletics would like to thank all of the fans and community members who came out to support this great cause! Go Lions!
