Box Score Swarthmore, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team fell on the road to Swarthmore College 76-64 in non conference action Saturday afternoon.
Troy Steed led the Lions with 13 points, five rebounds and went 6-10 from the field. Stephen Johnson scored 11 points, three steals and three rebounds. Deion Boyer put up 11 points, three assists and three steals.
The Garnets started the game on a 7-0 run, until jump shot made by Steed. The Lions battled back to bring the game within four, 23-19, midway of the first half. But Swarthmore replied with a 17-6 run in the last 10 minutes to go into the break up 45-28.
Swarthmore took control of the second, extending their lead. The Lions started to chip away at the Garnet lead with 10 minutes left in the game. Bryn Athyn would bring the game within single digits, off a jumper by Johnson with three minutes left in the game. But the Garnets would keep their lead and win the game by 12.
Bryn Athyn returns to the court January 6th to take on Wilson in conference action.
