Box Score Chambersburg, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball defeated Wilson College, 84-69 in NEAC conference action Tuesday night.
Deion Boyer led the Lions with 15 points, five rebounds and two assists. Joseph Kehoe also scored 15 points and went 5-6 from the arc. Troy Steed had a double-double, putting up 13 points and pulling back 11 rebounds. Damontay Fowler-Thomas scored 11 points and snatched six rebounds.
Kehoe set the tone for the Lions scoring three straight three pointers to go on a 9-0 run till the Phoenix made their first basket at 16:31. Boyer added to lead with a three pointer and lay up of his own to extend the Lions lead to 14-3. Wilson chipped away at the Bryn Athyn lead to five points with nine minutes left in the half. The Lions went on a 5-0 run to rebuild their lead to 10 points with less than five minutes. Bryn Athyn would go into the halftime break with a 12-point lead.
Both teams come out in the second half, exchanging baskets. Phoenix capitalizes on defense rebounds and converted them into cutting the Lion lead to eight, 49-41 with 14:50 left in the game. Bryn Athyn picked up their offensive pressure and extended their lead to 20 points, 65-45 with 11 minutes left. The Lions didn't let down their hot shooting and won the game 84-69. Carlos Perez led the Lions seven points of the bench. Austin Nyekan added six points in half, with three rebounds and two steals.
