Lions Fall to Randolph Macon in First Round of R-MC Coaches Tournament, 84-61

Ashland, Va - Bryn Athyn men's basketball team fell to Randolph Macon, 84-61 Monday evening at Crenshaw Gymnasium in the first round of the R-MC Coaches Tournament sponsored by Kay Jewelers.

After falling behind 5-0 in the first 2:30 minutes, Bryn Athyn scored six straight to take its only lead at 6-5 five minutes into the game on two Stephan Tucker lay-ups. Randolph Macon used a 13-3 spurt to take an 18-9 advantage with 8:20 left in the half. The Lions tallied seven straight to cut the deficit to two at 18-16 with 6:15 remaining led by Adonis Rosario 7 straight points and a three pointer by Nick Cereby. A 14-5 spurt gave the Randolph Macon a 32-21 lead with just under a minute remaining before taking a 32-23 advantage at the half.

2 early three pointers in the second half gave Randolph Macon a 13-point lead at 38-25. The advantage grew to 18 midway through the period at 56-38. Despite 3 treys by Devantae Laws cutting the lead to 12, 69-57,  the Lions could not get any closer. The Lions only added 4 more points and could not put a hold on Randolph Macon's offense, falling 84-61.

The Lions were led by Adonis Rosario with 15 points shooting 7 of 10 from the field. Deion Boyer led the team in rebounds with 7. Stephan Tucker added 9 points and Devantae Laws shot 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. 

The Lions will play in the third place game of the R-MC Coaches tournament in Ashland Va at 5:00 pm against Bethany.
