Steed Leads Men's Basketball to First NEAC Win Against Wilson

Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team defeated Wilson College, 64-63 in NEAC action Thursday night.

Troy Steed led the Lions with 19 points, four rebounds and one assist.  Deion Boyer scored 13 points, 12 rebounds, and notched three assists.  Nick Cereby and Stephan Tucker scored six points each, in the win. 

Both teams started the game exchanging points; the Lions kept Wilson within three possessions all game.  After tying the game twice, with 13:36 left in the first, the Phoenix built a seven point lead with 7:51 in the half. With two back to back, lay ups by Steed and a made jumper by Rahim Washington, the Lions battled their way back to within one point. Bryn Athyn took the lead with a three pointer made by Stephan Tucker at 5:24, but Wilson would get hot from the arc and take a three point lead into halftime.

After starting the second half cold, Wilson rebuilt their lead to, 46-40, four minutes into the second half.  Back to back three pointers from Cereby and Boyer would bring the game with two points.  The Lions would battle to keep the Phoenix within two possessions, till Bryn Athyn converted a foul to two points and made layup by Steed to take their first lead of the second half and win their first NEAC win. Bryn Athyn kept Wilson to 25 percent shooting in the second half, and the Lions 6-19 from the arc.

The Lions head up north to take on Wells and Keuka this weekend in NEAC action.
