How It Happened:

Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team welcomed Gallaudet University to tonight's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game and fell 69-66 in a dramatic fashion. The Lions would take an early 6-3 lead on three straight lay ups from senior guard Deion Boyer before the Bisons went on a 16-4 run that saw the first half's biggest lead at 19-10. The Lions snapped the Bisons' scoring spree on three consecutive baskets from senior forward Stephan Tucker and junior guard Devante Laws to cut the deficit to 19-16. After a basket by Andy Cruz for Gallaudet, the Lions would regain the upper hands, 22-21, on two free throws from senior guard Troy Steed. The Bisons then would finish the first half with a 30-29 lead at intermission.

In the second half, while the Bisons seem to put the game out of reach, the determined Lions would not give up and rallied back from the game's largest deficit of 14 (49-35). Freshman forward Lamarr Crenshaw and Laws were instrumental in the 11 straight points scored for the Lions to cut the Bison's lead down to three, 49-46. Even with the Bison's attempt to run away to take a nine point lead on a basket by Cruz, 67-58 (1:23), the Lions were fueled by eight straight points from Boyer to trail 67-66 with 19 seconds left.

The Lions then quickly called a 30 second time out to execute a plan to return to offense. The Bisons were met by full court pressure and it was Tucker who stole the ball from Noah Valencia that forced Gallaudet into their final time out. Unfortunately a last second turnover by the Lions and two insurance free throws by the Bisons wrapped tonight's game up in a 69-66 finale.
