In the early second half, the Eagles were able to tie the game at 35 apiece and eventually take a 37-35 lead (17:37) on a basket from Jason Saldiveri. Senior guard Troy Steed quickly tie the game up roughly 30 seconds later (17:08) and senior guard Deion Boyer followed up with a back-to-back three pointer. Two additional buckets by Steed pushed the Lions advantage back to double figures, 57-47, before Roland Romano answered with a three point play for the Eagles. After a Boyer layup at 9:47 gave the home team a dozen points, 55-43, leverage, the visiting team outscored the Lions 22-12 in the next eight minutes. With the Lions ahead 67-65 with 1:51 to go, Saldiveri converted a three point play for the Eagles to take a 68-67 lead. Junior guard Austin Nyekan wasted no time and hauled a full court pass to a sprinting Steed for a fast break dunk that sat the Lions on top 69-68.
