Box Score Bryn Athyn Pa – The men's basketball team hosted Morrisville State in NEAC play this afternoon at Asplundh Field House. The Lions fell to Morrisville 81-61.
The Lions were down 11-2 at the 12 minute mark of the first half, when Christian Rivera hit a three pointer to get the Lions within eight. The Lions Austin Nyekan hit a three of his own, cutting Morrisville's lead to five, 13-8. Morrisville extended its lead by as much as 11 over the next three minutes. A Devante Laws three pointer got the Lions as close as six at the 2:47 mark. Morrisville closed the half with 7-0 run to hold a 39-26 lead going into the half.
The Lions came out roaring at the start of the second, outscoring Morrisville 13-4 in the opening minutes behind three, three pointers by Deion Boyer. The Lions cut Morrisville's lead to 5, 43-38. The Lions would keep the lead close over the next 4 minutes. Morrisville then would outscore the Lions in the final 12 minutes of play 31-18. The Lions could not close the large margin and fell to Morrisville, 81-61.
Adonis Rosario led the Lions with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Deion Boyer added 12 points, all three pointers, and Devante Laws also added 12 points.
The Lions loss moves them 5-10 in the NEAC. The Lions are back in action on Sunday February 14th as they host Cazenovia in NEAC action.
