Box Score Cobleskill, NY - The Bryn Athyn men's basketball team won their fourth straight game over a conference opponent, defeating SUNY Cobleskill 74-62 on Saturday afternoon. Adonis Rosario led the Lions with a season high 28 points.
The opening minutes of the game had both teams struggle to make a basket. The Lions went out to a 4-0 lead after Christian Rivera and Troy Steed both made lay ups. The Lions then went on 11-0 run, where Adonis Rosario scored 9 of his 28 points in a two minute span putting the Lions ahead by 14, 26-12 with 5:22 left in the first half. SUNY Cobleskill closed out the first half outscoring the Lions 12-4 and closing the lead to 6 at the end of the half, 30-24.
The Lions gradually increased their lead to begin the second half and went back up by 10, 39-29, after Adonis Rosario finished off a three point play with a lay up and a made free throw. The Lions kept the lead over the Tigers throughout the quarter, with their largest lead of the game at 17 points, 62-45, coming at the 4:08 mark after a Adonis Rosario lay up. The Tigers battled back to eventually get as close as seven with 53 seconds left, but the Lions held the Tigers off. The Lions went on for their fourth straight victory over a conference opponent, 74-62.
Adonis Rosario scored a game high and season high 28 points, shooting 8 for 9 from the field and 11 of 17 from the free throw line. Troy Steed added 11 points and Deion Boyer added 10 points.
The Lions are right back in action on Sunday February 7th as they take on host SUNY Poly in conference play.
