How It Happened:

Bryn Athyn College welcomed Vaughn College to Asplundh Field House for the first game of the 2017 year. Trailing majority of the time in the first half, the Lions saw their first lead of the game on a three point basket by Devante Laws for the 24-21 advantage. After the Warriors added four more points to get ahead 25-24, Deion Boyer responded with a three pointer and the Lions took a 27-25 lead into half time. 

In the second half, the opening lay up by Troy Steed (29-25) was the most the Lions enjoyed before the Warriors begin to take off. The Warriors sprinted away from the competition and led by as many as 20 points (67-47) with 3:36 left to play. The Lions were able to cut the deficit to 15 (71-56) on a lay up by Stephan Tucker, but time would expire as the Warriors take the 75-56 victory over the Lions. 

Warriors' Top Performers

* Kevin Vanderpool finished with a double-double performance on 30 points and 11 rebounds.

* Michael Pena and Ian Parker added 15 and 14 points respectively. 

Lions' Top Performers:  

* Laws hit five three-pointers for team high 15 points.

* Lamarr Crenshaw and Steed added 12 and 11 points respectively for Lion's double digit scorers.
