Box Score DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team suffered an 84-66 non-conference loss at the hands of Delaware Valley University Wednesday night in James Work Gymnasium.
Lamarr Crenshaw paced the Lions (3-7) with 20 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to record a double-double in his seventh straight game. It was the sixth time in the last seven games that Crenshaw has registered at least 20 points.
Rahim Washington shot 6-of-8 from the floor to contribute 15 points.
The Lions trailed by four when they went on a quick 5-0 spurt to take an 11-10 lead, their first of the game, on a Larry Stevenson III free throw at the 11:36 mark of the first half. With Bryn Athyn leading 13-12, Delaware Valley (6-3) started to take control of the contest by scoring 22 of the next 30 points to move ahead 34-21. The Aggies scored the final 10 points of the opening half to lead 44-23 at the break.
In the second half, Bryn Athyn would get some momentum going with an 11-3 run to close the Delaware Valley advantage to 59-47 on a Crenshaw layup with 11:05 left in the game.
Damian Washington was Delaware Valley's top scorer with a game-high 22 points, while Lybrant Robinson added 18 points off-the-bench. Alex Matsinys contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Aggies shot 47.1 percent (33-of-70) from the field and 31.0 percent (9-of-29) from 3-point range, while the Lions 41.7 percent (25-of-60) of their shots and 10.5 percent (2-of-19) of its 3-pointers.
Bryn Athyn returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 29 when the Lions take on host DeSales in the opening round of the Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament at 2 p.m.
